Original era manufacture. Likely produced for the postwar GI souvenir market is this nice quality clamshell guard hunting cutlass or dagger. Several of the components have a strong resemblance to fittings seen on WWII German daggers. The blade is quite clean and is maker marked G.C.Co. Solingen Made In Germany on the ricasso.
