German WWII Railroad Officials Tunic & Visor Hat

Original era manufacture. This is a nice set which we purchased at the last SOS in Louisville. Dark blue wool tunic with gilded pebble grain buttons throughout. Original sewn red-yellow-blue shoulder straps with two silver rank pips on each shoulder. Machine sewn, elaborate construction collar patches featuring a winged railroad wheel and swastika. The tunic is clean, no real moth issues to report. Some of the metal insignia on the collar patches have pulled loose, they must have been a literal pain to wear back in the day. Also included is this WWII era Reichsbahn officials hat (purchased together with the tunic) with that great winged railroad insignia on the black velvet cap band. Again, no real moth issues but there is a thin spot on the top towards the rear of the hat which does show moth crazing and is a little threadbare. Its difficult to see as the dark color is good camouflage. The German railway system provided all of the large scale transportaion and troop movements for the Wehrmacht on terra firma. It's an often overlooked organization in the collecting world. However many of their personnel were decorated for bravery and many lost their lives as locomotives were a prime target for Allied Fighter-Bombers.
