Original era manufacture. Standard pattern Red Cross enlisted hewer, marked Ges. Gesch. on the reverse ricasso. The blade is bright and clean with no corrosion issues. The plastic grip plates are sound, no cracks or chips. The obverse langet displaying the DRK eagle is sound, the reverse langet displays corrosion loss on it's lower edge. The grip frame and pommel also display corrosion bubbling but no metal loss. Blue steel finish scabbard body with plated steel fittings with all securing screws present. The body is not dented but has considerable evidence of surface corrosion and staining. Intact original black leather frog, still pliable.
