Original era manufacture. Standard pattern enlisted hewer, no maker mark as is the norm. The blade is bright, no corrosion issues, just some minor clouding from age on the surface. The metal guard and pommel are sound, no cracks or oxidation, with a nice luster to the surface. The front side of the black plastic grip has a missing section at the bottom, the reverse grip panel is sound. The clever previous owner simply reversed the panels for display. Dent-free steel scabbard with a black painted finish, of which about 80% remains, which blends nicely with the steel patina finish remainder. Bright scabbard throat and tip with all mounting screws intact. Very solid black leather belt frog. A very clean example just needing a replacement front grip panel.
