Original period manufacture. Dark blue wool body with a black velvet band and orange-red wool piping. Large gold coloredeagle on the top with a winged wheel emblem on the band. Black leather adjustable chinstrap with a polished black visor. Interior displays an orange colored oilcloth lining with an intact sweatshield size marked 56 1/2. Simple imitation leather sweatband which is missing the forward portion. Bit of surface flaking on one side of the chinstrap, no moth damage to mention. Clean hat showing good form.
