Original era manufacture. Issue rifle cleaning kit for the K98 rifle. Pressed steel tobacco can with most of its original ordnance gray paint finish remaining. Coded cmr, 43.The contents include, linked pull-through, bakelite oiler, and both cleaning brushes, the floor plate tool is present, normal age and wear overall.This buckle formed part of the WWII souvenirs of  Captain L. Smith, 183rd FA Battalion, which arrived in France in June 1944. The small photo shows Captain Smith in Europe, dated November 1944. The photo is not included in the lot.
