Original era manufacture. Standard WWII K98 service bayonet, maker marked and dated cof 42 (Eickhorn), matching serial numbers 2130e, with a small 8-point star below the maker & date on the blade.Most of the satin-blue finish remains on the blade, with no corrosion issues. Runner wear near the point, which is slightly bent and blunted. Mix of blue, steel patina, and cleaned corrosion on the guard and pommel; operable lock button.Dark plum bakelite grips with a mix of blue and cleaned surface corrosion on the flash guard.Dent free steel scabbard, exhibiting a mix of blue and cleaned surface corrosion; the scabbard throat screw is missing.
