Original era manufacture. Scarce, Austrian made K98 bayonet by Gennosenschafts Machinenhaus der Buchsenmacher, Fernlach/Karnten, Austria and coded bym. Non-matching example with a cof (Eickhorn) code scabbard. Reddish brown bakelite grips showing service use but no real damage. The blade has a plum colored finish which now shows a mottled surface. It is unsharpened and the point remains sharp. Areas of cleaned corrosion near the tip. Mix of steel patina and blue to the pommel and flashguard. The dark steel patina scabbard shows some light surface denting but nothing horrible. Fair condition original leather frog which has had its pommel straps removed.
