Original era manufacture. An overall clean, non-matching serial number bayonet, made by Coppel with a 39 blade date on the spine. Most of the satin blue finish remains on the blade, with wear near the tip, and a small amount of surface staining from corrosion. The edge has not been sharpened, or otherwise abused.Dark plum bakelite grips in good repair, mix of blue finish and steel patina to the guard and pommel, with light surface corrosion.The scabbard retains its proper throat screw, is mostly dent-free, and has a rough texture finish from light surface corrosion and blue. No pitting that I can see. A very nice black leather, mounted pattern frog which is dated 1943.
