Original era manufacture. Interesting bayonet as the serial number blade to scabbard is 4984 1, they used a number rather than a letter for a series marker. Spine shows the fnj code (coppel) and the date of 40. Satin blue finish to the blade with some scattered staining as shown. Dark plum bakelite grips with a dark steel patina finish to the guard and pommel. Dent free scabbard with a dark surface patina finish. WWII production soldier cobbler made black leather frog.
