Original period manufacture. An outstanding example of the WWII German K98 rifle bayonet, complete with an original frog and NCO knot; with all components matching each other in overall condition.Standard pattern S84/98 bayonet maker marked cof (Eickhorn) dated 43 on blade and scabbard, displaying matching serial numbers, 6149h. Nearly 100% of the original blue finish remains on all of the metal components, no damage to the flashguard, just some very light finsih wear on the blade.The blue steel scabbard is dent-free, the throat screw is present, with no issues of surface corrosion. Very sound black leather mounted pattern frog, with all four aluminum rivets in place, tight stitching, and clear makers mark on the reverse with a 1940 date.Correctly tied NCO knot in green and silver, no fraying or staining to the surfaces.
