Original era manufacture. Matching numbers blade to scabbard of 6564 nn and maker coded asw (Horster) and dated 43. Pleasing mix of blue and steel patina to the metal surfaces, nice wood grips with an undamaged flash guard. There is some staining and light surface corrosion to the scabbard body but it is dent free. The blade is unsharpened and retains a sharp point, there are a few, very shallow bumps (not deep enough to be called nicks) in the cutting edge. Nice clean wartime bayonet.
