Original era manufacture. Standard pattern, mid-war S84/98 bayonet with a good portion of its original finish remaining on the blade, guard, and pommel. Issue date of 1943 agv on the blade,. matching maker,  serial numbered 5142.Sound dark red bakelite grips with no cracks or chips, mix of original blue and steel patina finish to the scabbard, which has a single dent on the reverse above the tip.Sound black leather frog with intact stitching and all rivets in place, pommel strap is intact and not broken. Scuffing to the surface from service wear.
