Original era manufacture. Standard K98 bayonet with a black painted finish over the original blue. Possible Kriegsmarine overpaint, sometimes it's just old black paint too. Matching numbers blade to scabbard of 2232f, with E.PACK & S. 1939 on the scabbard, on the blade same maker but 39 stamped on the spine. Decent satin blue finish to the blade, some scattered staining and light surface corrosion near the blunted tip. Sound dark plum bakelite grips with no cracks or chips, steel patina peeking through the dent-free steel scabbard.
