Original era manufacture. A sound enough example which recently came in with other German equipment. S242/G marked on the blade ricasso and S/155G marked on the scabbard throat. Decent amount of blue finish remains on the blade, dark plum bakelite grips with a repaired spot on the reverse grip plate and a working lock button. No corrosion issues to report, the frog stud is pushed in a bit and the top of the stud and guard have Warsaw Pact reworked serial numbers. Waffenamt proof on the tip of the scabbard, the pommel proofshave been removed. Scabbard throat screw has been replaced with a domed rivet. Excellent re-enactor bayonet.
