Original era manufacture. A very clean example of the WWII German Wehrmacht service bayonet, which matches by maker and date, ASW 43 (Horster) but does not match by serial number.  Most of the original blue finish remains to the blade, the edge is unsharpened and no corrosion issues; the point remains sharp. Lots of blue finish remains on  the guard, pommel, with damage free, dark red bakelite grips.The blue steel scabbard is dent-free, with some very light scattered surface corrosion, the scabbard throat screw is present. No dents to the scabbard body.
