Original era manufacture. Standard WWII German Wehrmacht service bayonet, which matches by maker and date, ffc 44, (F. Herder) and also matched by serial number 5078a.  Most of the original blue finish remains to the blade, with scattered areas of spotting and staining. Mix of blue and steel patina finish to the guard, pommel, with damage free, dark red bakelite grips.The blue steel scabbard is dent-free, with some scattered surface corrosion, the scabbard throat screw is present. No dents to the scabbard body. Comes complete with a rather tattered Czech leather frog.
