Original era manufacture. Standard pattern WWII German service bayonet, however this example was produced in 1937 for the Portuguese government and is devoid of the typically found markings except for two waffenamt proofs on the pommel, a serial number also on the pommel, and a star proof on the scabbard ball tip. Most of the satin blue finish remains on the blade, no corrosion issues. Dark steel patina finish to the guard and pommel. Original finish wood grips exhibiting wear and use. Clean satin blue finish to the scabbard body, dented from service use and missing the throat screw. The waffenamt proof looks to be either 173 or 175.
