Original era manufacture. A complete WWII S84/98 bayonet made by Horster, as brought home by Sergeant L. Willoughby, 89th Chemical Mortar Battalion. The blade displays a mix of satin blue finish and steel patina, with scattered spotting from age, no corrosion issues. Light surface corrosion on the flashguard, guard and pommel, dark plum bakelite grips which are free of cracks or chips.'The scabbard is dent free, but has several spots of corrosion, sound leather frog showing wear to the obverse. We have made no effort to clean this bayonet up, it is in the exact condition as received by us from Sgt Willoughby's son.
