Original era manufacture. Early quailty dagger with nickel fittings and an anodized scabbard finish. The obverse of the blade is fairly bright and clean with good definition to the motto, on the reverse is the SMF logo close to the base of the ricasso and very clear evidence of grinding up and down its length which indicates the removal of the Ernst Rohm motto. The scabbard finish now displays are rather dark, almost black hue (possible NSKK?) with some scattered light denting. Two of the scabbard fitting screws are missing and of course, the ball tip is properly dented. Both grip emblems are in place but there are large portions of the lower grip missing just above the guard. In spite of its flaws the dagger has a certain charm and "been there" look to it.
