Original era manufacture. Pressed steel box with an ordnance gray finish, and original white lettering on the top. There is a thumb-turn lock on the front of the box, next to that a makers logo and 42 date.The box measures roughly 9.5 x 9.5 x 4 inches, with a permanently attached gray canvas carrying strap. The painted surface shows wear and use, still quite sound for display.
