Item #49937 : Original era manufacture. Rigid body officers kepi in the rank of Commandant of Military Justice, apparently equal to a Major. Red wool top with a dark blue wool cap band. Gold wire decoration around the body of the hat, up the four sides, around the top edge with a quatrefoil at top.Black patent leather visor with a bound edge, simple gold brocade chinstrap secured by two domed brass buttons.Black cotton lining with a black leather sweatband, which has come loose in the back. No moth issues to mention. The hat is not crushed or misshapen. Originally we had this identified as an Infantry kepi, thanks to Jean-Michel for setting us straight.
