Item #69070 : Original period manufacture. A sound example, likely one that came over after the war and was offered as a prize in the war bond drives. I believe the metal fittings are original to the helmet, no extra holes behind the wappen, it being held in place by leather wedges. I also feel the korkarden are original, but likely installed by a collector at some point in the past. The chinstrap may be an old one, but it is too large for this helmet, however for our discussion we are going to call it a replacement, but boy it looks good. Nice original liner, with a very clear 1915 dated Berlin makers stamp on the neck guard. Both visors are securely sewn to the body.
