Item #68846 : Original period manufacture. Very clean helmet shell with little evidence of it ever having been worn. Pliable black oilcloth liner, with several period inkstamps on the underside. Unbroken and pliable brown leather chinstrap, a little dry on one side, but not dusty or crumbling. On of the chinstrap securing rivets is not the normally seen British split-brad, being a simple circular rivet, period repair or replacement? The helmet is very clean, the downside is the rubber doughnut is missing, and the gray wool flannel cover has long since succumbed to Mr & Mrs Moth.
