Original period manufacture. Fine quality double breasted coat, the body appears to be a very dark blue, with red wool collar, cuffs and piping. Double row of  eight gilded brass buttons on the chest, six on the decorative tail. Twisted gold wire shoulder knots. White silk body lining, with a red silk lining to the tails. Old costume house stamps inside. Sewn to the cuffs and collar is a gold wire brocade band with three red dividing stripes, their meaning is unknown, likely costume house added. Size about a 38 regular.
