Original period manufacture. Tulwar, or Talwar, this is a nice quality sword, well balanced with a 29.5 inch curved steel blade. Scattered nicks in the edge, yet the steel surface has a nice luster to it. Cast steel grip, the obverse langet is missing. Leather covered wooden scabbard, with a decorative brass throat. Decent edge to the blade, rather sharp really. Our guess as to age, may date to earlier times.
