Item #69873 : Original period manufacture. During WWI, IR 48 served with the following three German divisions, 5th 1914-1915, 113th 1915-1917, 228th 1917-Armistice. During the Meuse-Argonne offensive it saw combat with the 3rd US Infantry division AEF.
