Item #64089 : Original era manufacture. At first glance this appears to be an example of a Field Music hat insignia, fairly common, typically seen with a screw post reverse. This one however is lead filled with the regimental number secured by four thin brass wires sunk into the lead fill. Same with the brass pin assembly. No evidence of a company letter ever having been attached to the top of the horn. Not a big deal in the scheme of things, but the first example I can remember seeing.
