Original era manufacture. A very early pattern which may date to around the time of the Russo-Japanese War 1904-1905. Dark blue wool topped hat which is not as wide as the later WWII pattern. Black mohair quilted band which is piped on both sides in Medical Department red. Red silk lining with a black calfskin leather sweatband with a white/black silk ribbon trim. Nice quality gold and silver wire emblem at front. No moth damage to speak of, just normal age and wear.
