Original era manufacture. A very scarce, early pattern pack featuring an inner rigid wood frame with a canvas cover with leather trim. All of the shoulder straps and metal fittings are intact and mostly pliable, the leather shoulder straps are a bit stiff. There is a large white cotton panel surgical taped to the exterior flap of the pack. In addition other issue marks and stamps may be seen on the interior of the pack as well. A partial translation reads; Showa 12 (1937)Osaka Quartermaster, Ikeda Squad 1st Group, Yamamoto Toshitaku (soldiers name). The pack shows normal service wear and age but remains quite sound for display.
