Original era photograph. Sepia toned, CDV sized image set onto a larger photographers mounting with cover. The image depicts an IJN sailor wearing the square rig uniform while sitting in an ornately carved chair. Terri pointed out that his right sleeve appears empty. Perhaps the sailor was wounded and lost an arm in the recent conflict with Imperial Russia.
