Original period manufacture. This is a very well made letter opener being made of 28 individual pieces not including the sword knot. Overall measurement is just under 10 inches with a 6.25 inch chromed blade. The sword itself is made of 17 individual pieces of metal. Black lacquer finish to the scabbard body with 11 individual pieces which make up the fittings.
