Original era manufacture. A beautiful example of a pre WWII Japanese Army full dress uniform as worn by a Lieutenant-Colonel of Infantry. The condition of the grouping is near new, very minimal mothing (a few pinholes only), no staining, discoloration or corrosion anywhere. The grouping includes a midnight blue, double breasted fine wool frock coat with red wool collar and cuffs for Infantry, with an interior leather belt. Heavy gold bullion embroidery appears on the collar, with five gold wire rank gallons stitched to each cuff. Full complement of gilt tunic buttons bearing the cherry blossom emblem. Matching wool trousers with a two inch wide red wool stripe down the outer seam of each leg, with leather reinforcement at the bottom of each cuff. Field grade officers red/white silk belt sash with gold wire tassles, heavy, gold wire slip-on epaulettes, each with two silver stars for Lieutenant-Colonel rank. The sash and epaulettes each come with their original green velvet lined, chromed steel storage containers with an appropriate sized cardboard cover box as well. All of the components fit neatly into the original uniform trunk with kanji characters on the ends. Just a gorgeous set and one which would be very difficult to improve upon.
