Original era manufacture. Hand forged blade with a very clear temper line, no nicks in the cutting edge and the tip is undamaged. There is a very small amount of scattered surface corrosion and staining on the blade surface but zero pitting. Silver covered blade collar, floral design iron tsuba with both brass menuki intact. The grip wrapping displays the classic old electrical tape repair, but oh well. Black lacquered wooden scabbard with a paper tag with kanji and a matching electrical tape repair at the scabbard throat. Blade measures 24 inches in length. Solid base for a restoration project.
