Original era manufacture. This has been a bit difficult to identify properly, so let me simply say it is quite a large brass shell casing with the following dimensions. About 135mm across the opening but it is slightly out-of-round so may be in fact smaller in diameter, it stands at 23 inches in height. Numerous markings on the base including an anchor. This has to be a scarce piece as most were likely recycled for brass and due to its large size would have been a royal pain to haul home in your Sea Bag. Typical scratching to its surface but sound otherwise.
