Original era manufacture. Later war manufacture, 1944 pattern Army officers sword, of a model once referred to in collecting circles as "Navy Landing Force".The polished steel blade measures 27 inches in length, with decent polish, and no issues beyond normal age and wear. Simple oval iron tsuba, original brown cloth wrapped grip, with blackened metal pommel and grip collar. The scabbard presents a dent-free surface, with near 100% of its original brown paint finish remaining. The original company grade officers knot is in good condition, overall the colors remain strong, with a few snags in the cloth but no tears, and the fringed knots are very sound.A very clean example overall, from our own collection.
