Original era manufacture. Liquid filled, magnetic compass fixed to a spring-supported cradle and base. Removable top section with a fitting for an illumination bulb. Removable top housing,  nomenclature tag on one side. According to one online site, compasses of this type could be found in use on Japanese Kawasaki Ki-48 "Lily", and Mitsubishi Ki-21 "Sally" type aircraft. Most of the liquid remains, there is some minor clouding on the underside of the bezel.
