Original era manufacture. Standard Army enlisted canteen with a brown painted aluminum body and well-worn canvas harness. Handwritten kanji on the harness reverse. Cork and metal stopper held in place with a period looking string. The leather secruring strap is missing, or perhaps soldier removed. Good vintage look to it.
