Original era manufacture. Classic enlisted field hat as worn by the IJA in all theaters of WWII. Brown olive wool body, of apparent later war manufacture, with a simple yellow wool star stitched to the front. Pigskin leather chinstrap and sweatband with a greenish-gray, cotton chintz lining. The hat is large, say about a size 60, with no mothing or stains. Normal age and wear.
