Item #68302 : Original era manufacture. A complete example, offered in the well known Western phrase, "rode hard and put away wet", meaning it exhibits hard use and wear. Matching serial numbers can be seen on the blade and top of the scabbard throat, 21934. The polished steel blade measures 27.5 inches in length, it is clean, no deep corrosion pitting or nicks in the cutting edge. It does exhibit evidence of a buffing or cleaning to the surface. Aluminum grip which has been cleaned, none of the original finish remains, however the steel pommel loop is in place. Tokyo Arsenal proof on the copper collar above the brass tsuba. Fairly dent free steel scabbard with a dark patina finish, only traces of the olive paint finish remain near the throat.
