Original era manufacture. A sound example of the pattern of IJA officers hat worn by all officer ranks up to General. Mustard wool body with a red wool cap band and piping. Cherry blossom decorated chinstrap buttons and single gilt star in the center of the capband. The chinstrap is intact but looks as if it has had a repair, or at least a crease on one side. The hat displays well and is not crushed or broken, only mothing is a single pin-hole on the top of the hat. Normal age and wear.
