Original era manufacture. A very clean example of the prewar Japanese Army officers dress cap in the rank of Captain. All of the bullion trim is securely stitched to the dark blue wool body, no mothing in evidence. Black patent leather, bound edge visor with a bit of a crinkle surface from age. Black leather sweatband with a white silk ribbon and a black silk lining with the makers name printed in gold. The black japanned metal storage can is made in the shape of the hat, with the remnants of an orange paper interior. The box has been battered a bit, and no longer locks properly but is still quite suitable for display.
