Original era manufacture. Polished steel blade measuring 27 inches in length, with a fuller just below the spine on each side. The blade is clean, no nicks in the cutting edge and with a faint temper line visible on each side. No corrosion issues to mention beyond some light staining which I think could be cleaned away fairly easily. The point has been very slightly blunted. I removed the handle and there are characters stamped on one side.Simple cast brass tsuba, with a green cloth wrapped grip covering, stamped brass circular menuki and a painted pommel cap with tassle loop.Military pattern brown painted metal scabbard with painted brass fittings. It is clean, nothing missing, just a shallow dent about midway down on one side.An honest looking sword showing light age and wear.
