Original era manufacture. Polished 27 inch steel blade with a fuller on each side. Scattered Minor nicks in the cutting edge, with some light staining on the surface, overall the blade is bright and presents well. Ornate cast brass guard, with an original wrapped grip, and decorative pommel cap. The painted steel scabbard appears to be quite clean, with an intact tan leather field cover.The wooden securing pin is in there tight, I will not try and remove it to check the tang for signatures.  Purchased from the family of Mr. G.A.Boyd, who served with the 11th ABN during WWII.
