Original era manufacture.Brown cowhide Army pattern summer flying helmet with a stitched golden yellow leather star at front. Olive green wool blend lining, assorted issue marks inside the ear cups. The helmet is in excellent condition, slightly stiffened fromtime but has no issues beyond normal age, doubtful this was ever worn. The accompanying set of Cat's Eye goggles are maker marked TGK on the left eyepiece frame, have a maroon velvet facepiece with darkened lenses. The lenses are beginning to delaminate, but with the dark color it makes this process difficult to see. Intact headband which has not been stretched out of shape, withoriginal kanji written on one side as shown. The original goggle case is sound but someone decorated it with an application of surgical tape at some point. Who knows why. At any rate the helmet and goggles make a great lookingdisplay set for a Japanese aviation collector.
