Original era manufacture. Cork bodied helmet which is covered in a olive green heavy cotton fabric, with a brass star at front.There is a stain across the front visor from where a leather chinstrap had been in place for many years, the strap is now missing.The interior of the helmet displays an imitation leather sweatband, quilted yellow cotton lining, and a very clear Calcutta India makers name.Large quantities of captured British military equipment were used by theJapanese after the fall of Hong Kong and Singapore. The helmethas a good look to it, the crown is not crushed or broken, with some minor moth damage to the underside of the helmet rim covering.
