Original era manufacture. Standard style helmet as worn by the IJA on all fronts during WWII. This one is marked size small and according to our source production on small size helmets ceased in 1942 with large size only produced thereafter. Early canvas liner which is complete with an issue stamp on the underside of the front pad. Complete original chinstrap, including the small loop at the back of the helmet which has been soldier moved and attached to the center adjusting tie string. Original exterior paint and star, the handpainted white kanji on the interior has been translated as Headquarters 9. Honest, unmolested helmet and a fairly scarce variation.
