Original era manufacture. Standard pattern sword by Tokyo Arsenal with the Iijima Sword Factory logo. Painted aluminum hilt with about 50 per cent of the paint remaining, pommel loop is missing.  Simple iron tsuba, locking clasp on the top. The blade is clean with a few very tiny nicks in the cutting edge and cleaned corrosion pitting near the tip, serial numbered 140123 on the ricasso. Steel patina NCO scabbard with none of the painted finish remaining. Scabbard throat is missing, the blade fits well but is a little bit of a tug to draw it out. Decent enough sword for the money.
