Original era manufacture. Standard IJA aluminum bodied enlisted canteen with wood stopper. Chinese style carrying harness with the stopper now held in place with a length of red/white twisted cotton string. At the bottom of the canteen is a dramatic bullet strike, with entry and exit point. Possible Korean War souvenir, or, even Vietnam. Interesting canteen.
