Original era manufacture. A rather poignant relic of the Pacific War is this Japanese standard Type 30 steel helmet showing a .30 caliber bullet hole in its rime, and a crack and shrapnel dent on the opposite side. Original star is missing, but the outline tracing is very clear at the front with most of the factory paint finish remaining. Most of the liner remains intact as shown, with portions of the cloth chinstrap hanging on. For some reason a previous owner applied short strips of masking tape to the helmet's surface, no idea why, but they should be able to be removed without too much effort. Honest old helmet which has seen the elephant in the Pacific Theater during WWII.
